Blondin said that on Wednesday night, around 5:20 p.m., Officer Nick Williams began an investigation into the possible sale of drugs in the parking lot of a business on Route 17.

Police stopped a vehicle in the lot that was suspected of involvement, Blondin said.

Police found a "quantity of suspected cocaine packaged for distribution" along with several hundred dollars in cash, Blondin said.

A 7-year-old child was also in the car, Blondin said.

Hicks and Gomez were taken to the Bergen County Jail. Colon was released to await a hearing in Superior Court, police said.

The child was released into the custody of a guardian, police said.
