Bacon, High Dives, And Cousin Brucie: State Fair Meadlowlands 2016

The fair, now in its 30th year, opens June 23 at the Meadowlands.

The State Fair Meadowlands opens June 23.

The fair will host more than 150 rides, musical acts, and food vendors as part of its 30th anniversary celebration throughout the summer.

“Cousin Brucie’s Palisades Park Reunion IV” will kickoff the festivities June 25 at 7 p.m. The event will include performances from artists who entertained audiences at the Palisades Amusement Park in the 1960s, including Bobby Rydell, the Passions, the Hearts-Jaynettes, and Raindorps, and the Delrons.

More than 50 food vendors will be at the fair, including Eat Our Bacon, a food stand that just focuses on bacon.

Entertainment features The Death-Defying High Dive Show, which will have a daredevil plunge 50 mph into a 10-foot deep pool. and The Great American Thrill Show, an open-air performance of gymnastic acrobats and aerialists.

The fair runs through July 10. It will be closed to the public June 26.
