UPDATE: 3 Other Kids Sickened At Camp Bergen County Boy Died, Police Say

The four boys were all in the same cabin when they become sick, according to reports.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Three other children have become ill at a Pennsylvania summer camp that a Bergen County boy died at Monday after developing gastrointestinal problems, Pennsylvania State Police confirmed.

The 11-year-old boy who died was Daniel Beer of Norwood. Services and a funeral for him were held Wednesday.

Recent reports published by The Morning Call and others said three other boys in Beer's cabin at camp Nah-Jee-Wah in Milford, Pennsylvania were hospitalized due to stomach illness. The other boys have since been released but the matter is still under investigation, according to a report by NJ.com.

Leonard M. Robinson, executive director of NJY Camps, which runs camp Nah-Jee-Wah, said in an email that Beer was treated for "gastrointestinal symptoms" Sunday night at the camp's infirmary and was taken to a hospital Monday morning when they got worse, an NJ.com report said.

An autopsy on Beer's body has been conducted, but the results are still pending, Pennsylvania State Police confirmed. The agency is investigating his death. Police declined further comment.

Milford Police referred a reporter to the Pennsylvania State Police.
