Bergen County Could Get Its 4th Wawa Store
An application to put a Wawa convenience store and gas station is before the Oakland Zoning Board.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Another Wawa may be built in Bergen County.
A hearing on an application to construct a Wawa convenience store and gas station on Plaza Road in Oakland was moved to a special meeting June 27.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment was expected to hear testimony, but ran out of time because other applications preceding it took up too much time.

A&E Ventures of Oakland LLC owns the 1.6-acre Burger King property where the store would go. They originally applied to the Planning Board, but the application was pushed to the zoning board after A&E withdrew its Planning Board application.
A&E looked to amend the site plan to replace the Burger King with the Wawa in 2010, but Long Hill Plaza and Volero gas station filed objections, but that project never came to fruition.

If approved, it would be the fourth Wawa in Bergen County. There are stores in Hackensack, Lodi and Garfield.
