Bergen County Tech Is Among 'Most Challenging' High Schools In U.S.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — One county high school has been named one of the Most Challenging High Schools in the United States by the Washington Post and also came in among the top 25 most challenging schools in New Jersey.

Bergen County Technical High School at Teterboro came in at No. 8 in New Jersey and at No. 310 in the country.

The Washington Post ranks schools through an index formula that’s a simple ratio: The number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year, divided by the number of seniors who graduated that year, according to the Washington Post.

A ratio of 1.000 means the school had as many tests as graduates.

Bergen County Tech had a ratio of 4.329.
