Bergen Man Broke Into 19 Local Businesses In 2017, Police Say

Breaking: Aaron Sukhdeo, 27, was arrested after being released from jail on another charge.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Police have arrested a man after 24 local businesses were burglarized over the summer.

Aaron Sukhedo, 27, of Bergenfield, was arrested after an eight-month investigation into the two dozen burglaries that occurred in his hometown from July 14 to Sept. 27, said Bergenfield Police Capt. Mustafa Rabboh.

Businesses that had cash inside were targeted, Rabboh said. Video surveillance footage from several of the burglaries showed the burglar wearing a mask, gloves and a backpack.

A Burger King restaurant at 250 South Washington Ave. was burglarized Sept. 27. Police officers chased the suspect, allegedly Sukhedo, but he was able to elude them, Rabboh said.

Police said that Sukhedo was responsible for the burglaries and arrested him Monday after he was released from the Bergen County Jail on a separate charge, Rabboh said.
