Bergen Man Charged With Steroid Distribution Near Middle School

Nicholas D'Angelo, 41, was charged after authorities found anabolic steroids and syringes in his home, authorities said.

BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. — A man was arrested and charged with distributing steroids near a Moonachie middle school after an investigation by authorities.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office received information that Nicholas D'Angelo, 41, was distributing steroids and authorities found various types of anabolic steroids and syringes during a court-ordered search of his home Tuesday, Gurbir S. Grewal, Bergen County prosecutor, said in a news release.

D'Angelo, a pizzeria chef, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely anabolic steroids, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely anabolic steroids, within 1,000 feet of Robert L. Craig Middle School.

D'Angelo was released on his own recognizance pending a first appearance in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court Feb. 1.
