Bergen Man Sentenced To 4 Years For Distributing Child Porn
BREAKING: Rafael Andreu, 70, must also register as a sex offender under Megan's Law.

A Bergen County man was sentenced Friday to four years in state prison after he plead guilty to distributing child pornography over the internet, authorities said.
Rafael Andreu, 70, plead guilty Sept. 27 in Bergen County Superior to distribution of child pornography. He must serve 20 months before he is eligible for parole and must register as a sex offender under Megan's Law.
Detectives from the state Attorney General's Division of Criminal Justice and the State Police were investigating people who were using software to share child pornography files online, Attorney General Christopher Porrino said in a news release.

Detectives downloaded child pornography files for a share folder at an IP address authorities trade to Andreu's Bogota residence, Porrino said.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office found 180 videos and images of child pornography, including child rape vidoes, in a shared folder from Andreu's computer after searching his home in September, the attorney general said.

“By sending defendants like Andreu to prison, we send a message to those who share this filth online that this is a very serious crime with very serious consequences,” Porrino said. “We’ll continue to make these cases a top priority in order to protect children, who are tortured to create these videos and re-victimized each time they are viewed.”
