Bergen School District Allows Medical Marijuana Be Administered To Students

The board approved a new policy Wednesday that gives parents permission to give their children medical marijuana while on school grounds.

One Bergen County school district now allows students to be administered medical marijuana while on school grounds.

The Ridgefield Park Board of Education adopted a policy Wednesday allowing parents to administer medical marijuana to their children while at district schools, on a district bus, or at a school-sponsored event.

Parents are required to submit a written request to their child's principal stating that a primary caregiver give the student the drug while on school property. Superintendent Eric Koenig and the school's principal and nurse will review each request.
