Bergen Wife Charged With Distributing Oxycodone Near School: Prosecutor

Linda Famelico, 60, allegedly had 35 pills on her when she was arrested, authorities said.

MAHWAH, N.J. — A Bergen County woman was arrested after she conducted a drug deal with an undercover detective from the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Wednesday near a school, said Gurbir S. Grewal, the acting prosecutor.

Authorities were investigating Linda Famelico, 60, when she distributed Oxycodone to the detective, Grewal said. She allegedly had 35 Oxycodone pills on her that were packaged for distribution when she was arrested, authorities said.

Famelico, 60, of Montvale, was charged with various drug-related offenses, including two counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, Oxycodone, within 1,000 feet of a public school, Grewal said.

Judge Jason T. Shafron set Famelico's bail at $20,000 with no 10 percent option. Famelico was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail, the prosecutor said.

The Mahwah and Montvale police departments and the prosecutor's office investigated Famelico.
