Power Outage Shuts Franklin Turnpike
About 1,450 people lost power briefly when a tree fell on power lines Wednesday afternoon
A section of Franklin Turnpike between East Ramapo Ave. and West Airmount Rd. was closed briefly Wednesday afternoon while Rockland Electric crews repaired downed power lines, confirmed.
The road was reopened shortly before 5 p.m., after the power line issue had been fixed, police said.
According to a representative from Rockland Electric, a fallen tree that took down power lines earlier Wednesday afternon was to blame. About 1,450 homes on and around Franklin Turnpike lost power from about 1:30 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, representative Maria Pollard said.
