Driver Injured After Bus Smashes Into NJ Transit Bridge In Mahwah, Authorities Say
A bus driver was taken to the hospital Wednesday after hitting a NJ Transit bridge in Bergen County, police said.
MAHWAH, NJ — A Coach USA bus driver was treated for a head injury after crashing into a NJ Transit bridge on Wednesday, police said.
A police officer saw the bus strike the bridge at Ramapo Valley Road and Franklin Turnpike around 8:45 a.m., said Mahwah Police Captain Michael Blondin.

Police found the driver suffering from a head injury, Blondin said. No one else was aboard the bus.
Mahwah's Fire Department helped remove the driver from the bus, and Mahwah EMS also responded.

The driver was treated at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, N.Y. for non-life threatening injuries, Blondin said.
The bus had to be towed from the scene, he said. The road was briefly closed.
There was no disruption to train service, NJ Transit officials said Wednesday.
