Car Chase Closes Part Of I-287 In Mahwah: Reports

A car chase beginning in Ringwood ended in Mahwah, closing a stretch of highway from Franklin Lakes to Mahwah early Wednesday.

MAHWAH, NJ — Northbound lanes of I-287 were closed during the early hours of Wednesday morning after a car chase beginning in Passaic County ended in Mahwah, according to multiple reports.

ABC7NY reports the chase began in Ringwood after a police officer was struck by a car on Skyline Drive early Wednesday, after finding a woman asleep in her car around 5:30 a.m.

According to the report, the officer wasn't seriously injured.

The chase came to an end in Mahwah, with closures of I-287 northbound lanes until around 9 a.m. this morning, according to the Mahwah Police Department.

According to NJ.com, traffic was diverted from I-287 to exit 59 until about 8:50 a.m.
