Just as we were about to make our selections for Sunday’s NFC and AFC championship games 2 major football stories have evolved into major news

TOM BRADY QUESTIONABLE TO START?

The word is out that TB-12 suffered some kind of injury to his hand at practice on Wednesday. No real proof of this exist because the Patriots have not confirmed anything and there are no pictures other than a brief video of Brady at practice wearing gloves and not throwing or catching footballs. This obviously has a major bearing on Sundays game in Foxboro the defending champs are currently a 7.5 point favorite over the upstart Jacksonville Jaguars

THE JETS ROBBY ANDERSON MOUTHS OFF TO THE POLICE,,,,,,AGAIN!

NY Jets WR Robby Anderson either needs a rehab of some kind or is just plain stupid. For the second time in a calendar year Anderson has created trouble with law enforcement. This time he was clocked over 100 mph in a 45 mph speed zone and ran through 3 red lights in a effort to evade the Florida police. Unbelievable when finally confronted Anderson threatened to sexually assault the arresting officer’s wife. It really is this hard to be this stupid twice. Anderson was charged with 9 other counts and seemingly wont be around for the Jets opener next September

NOW ONTO THE GAMES

SUNDAY EARLY- NEW ENGLAND-7.5 OVER JACKSONVILLE

This one really comes down to Brady if he doesn’t play or is badly injured the Jags will cover the 7.5 and have a great shot at advancing to its first Super Bowl ever. If this injury is a hoax we like the Patriots to cover and advance. Many have been impressed by the job Tom Coughlin and Coach Marrone have done with the Jags the one thing that does not escape me though is that Big Ben and IC Lites scored 42 points and over 500 yards of offense against the vaunted Jags defense. I have to believe if healthy Brady can come somewhat close to those numbers, if he can play look for the Pats to use a quick passing short underneath game-throwing long against the Jags will expose Brady to a menacing pass rush.

SUNDAY AT NIGHT-MINNESOTA-3 OVER THE EAGLES

I think Minnesota is the better team on paper here but paper doesn’t usually count for much. For the second time in a row the Eagles are at home and are underdogs. The one thing that neutralizes the Vikings’s edge in my view is that this game is outside away from domes and at night. The elements will affect the passing and kicking game and Viking fans don’t have to reach back to far to remember what happens when you rely on field goals. We like the Eagles to fly at home, win outright and then get ready for my pre birthday celebration in February ---the Super Bowl!!!!!
