Don't Do Laundry In Mahwah During Hydrant Flushing, Town Says: See Schedule
Hydrant flushing in one Bergen County town started this week, and will cause discoloration. See the schedule.
MAHWAH, NJ — The town of Mahwah's hydrant flushing for this year began on Monday, and will cause discolored water on various streets over the next several weeks.
Towns flush their hydrants to push out sediment and minerals and to maintain water quality, making sure the hydrants will operate properly during emergencies.
The Mahwah Water Department will flush hydrants from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each weekday except for Wednesday, until all hydrants are flushed.

There's no list for Wednesday.
"If you live in the area of a street that is scheduled to be flushed that day you may experience discolored water," the town said. "To remedy this, only run the cold side of your faucets until clear. Avoid performing laundry during flushing hours. A list of streets being flushed will be sent out each morning."
