Election Results: William Laforet Wins Mahwah Mayoral Race
Laforet beats out hard-fought challenge from Council President John Roth.

MAHWAH, N.J. —William Laforet won the Mahwah mayoral election Tuesday.
John Roth, the Township Council president, ran on a platform of reform, promising to bring honesty and integrity back to the township's highest office.
Similarly, Councilman Jonathan Wong promised more transparency in municipal government if elected.

It has been a tumultuous time in office for Laforet, who was the subject of a recall last year due to the impromptu firing of the late Ed Sinclair, a political adversary and former director of the Department of Public Works. Sinclair later died of a heart attack. His family later filed a $60 million lawsuit against the township.
