Emu Missing From NJ Home For 5 Days Still At-Large: Reports
A pet Emu missing from a NJ farm since Monday is still on the run this weekend, according to multiple reports.

NEW JERSEY - A pet Emu missing from West Milford since Monday is still on the run as of Saturday, according to multiple reports.
3-year-old Vance the Emu was first reported missing from his Morsetown Road home on the Lost West Milford Pets Facebook page with instructions for neighbors to check home and trail cameras.
Owner Sandy Cordasco told NorthJersey.com that Vance lives with three other emus on a farm-assessed property. The owner wasn’t sure how Vance escaped a six-foot high enclosure, but it’s possible that something could’ve spooked the creature.

Emus are large, flightless birds native to Australia and New Guinea. They’re the second largest bird in the world (behind the Ostrich) and are quite vocal, with the ability to produce a booming, deep-throated grunting sound.
“Emu’s are very strong & fast,” the Facebook post read. “He very well could be heading towards New York state. If you see Vance DO NOT CHASE him please DO NOT TRY TO CAPTURE him he can hurt.”
