June 9 is Les Paul Day

Mayor William C. Laforet issued a Proclamation naming Saturday, June 9th as Les Paul Day in Mahwah.  This year marks the 97th anniversary of Les Paul’s birth in Waukesha, Wisconsin in 1915.  He lived in Mahwah from 1952 until his death in 2009.

The Mahwah Museum Society is hosting a Les Paul Birthday Gala on Saturday, June 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Ramapo College Trustees Pavilion.  The party includes live music by noted musicians Lou Pallo, Tommy Doyle and Sandy Cory, and a silent auction and a live auction.  There will be food and drink, as well as birthday cake and at 9:30 a raffle drawing for two signed guitars will take place.  Tickets are available at the Museum Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday 1-5 PM, or online.  For more information about the Mahwah Museum and its exhibits and events, go to www.mahwahmuseum.org
