“Love, Loss, and What I Wore” Performed by the M&M Productions Acting Company Written by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron. Based on the book by Ilene Beckerman
From the award winning writers of When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail and Silkwood comes the hit play, Love, Loss, and What I Wore, that just completed a hugely successful two and a half year New York run. The off-Broadway performances featured a stellar, rotating cast that included Tyne Daly, Rosie O’Donnell, Samantha Bee, Kristin Chenoweth, Jane Lynch, Rhea Perlman, Rita Wilson, Brooke Shields, and scores more. A funny, compelling and touching tale, women’s stories of love and loss woven together to form a masterwork. A play of monologues and ensemble pieces about women, clothes and memory covering all the important subjects– mothers, prom dresses, mothers, buying bras, mothers, hating purses and why we only wear black.
Love, Loss, and What I Wore had enjoyed outstanding reviews. Variety exclaimed that it was “a bittersweet meditation on the joys and tribulations of women’s lives, reflected through the prism of their clothes.” New York Times called it “Funny [and] compelling.” Liz Smith declared that Love, Loss, and What I Wore is “so funny and so powerful; so dear and sweet; so remindful of our female wiles, our worries, our insecurities, our remembrances of mother, father sisters, brothers, lovers.” And the LA Times described the show as an “affirming chick outing that makes you want to rip off your Spanx and have another cosmo. Men…may come and go, but a killer outfit is forever. Even if you can’t get into it anymore.”
Love, Loss, and What I Wore is free and no tickets are necessary. Seats are on a “first come” basis. Doors will be closed when the program begins. Latecomers will be seated at first convenience.
