"Older Americans Month" Activities

From the Allendale Community for Mature Living:

"In honor of Older Americans Month, The Atrium at The Allendale Community for Mature Living will host a variety of performances by local students and musicians this May. Area seniors are also invited to stay fit by participating in The Atrium’s Zumba® class. Advance registration is recommended for the following free programs:

  • Sat., May 7 – Piano teacher Shin Hye Lee and some of her accomplished students will bridge the generation gap by performing a concert at 1:30 p.m. in the Atrium Lounge. The young pianists will play popular, jazz and classical selections.
  • Thurs., May 12 – The Classic Winds Ensemble will perform excerpts from the popular symphony “Peter and the Wolf” at 6:30 p.m.
  • Sat., May 14 – Young students from Mariann's School of Dance in Paramus will perform a special dance recital for residents and guests at 2 p.m.
  • Sun., May 22 – “The Mood Swings,” a local ladies a capella group, will perform crowd favorites during a concert at 2:15 p.m.
  • Wed., May 25 – Guests are invited to workout at The Atrium for National Senior Health and Fitness Day. The community’s popular Zumba® class will be open to visitors every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Exercises can be performed seated or standing."
