Fan Wins Chance to Play Les Paul's Guitars

The Mahwah Museum hosted the WFUV contest prize winner.

The following was submitted to Patch by the Mahwah Museum.

On Wednesday evening, June 19, Manson Sacks and Bucky Pizzarelli met at the Mahwah Museum, 201 Franklin Turnpike, to play some of the rare guitars which are displayed in Mahwah Museum exhibit “Les Paul in Mahwah: A Tribute.” The exhibit includes experimental protypes designed by Les and guitars from Les Paul’s own collection.

Mitchell Sacks, Mason’s father, won the opportunity to play the Museum’s collection of Les Paul guitars on June 9 at WFUV Radio’s 2013 Annual Gala.  Bucky Pizzarelli, who performed with his good friend Les Paul for many years, came to play with Manson, and gave him some tips. WFUV Radio DJ Rich Conaty, the Sacks family, of Demarest, and Mahwah Museum President Charlie Carreras came to watch the performance and enjoy dinner and desert, included in the WFUV prize.

The exhibit “Les Paul in Mahwah” will run at the Mahwah Museum until June 30, when it will be reduced to make way for the exhibit “Neighborhoods of Mahwah: 1913-2013” which will highlight the changes and developments in the various areas of Mahwah during the last 100 years.  The Museum will close for the summer and reopen in September.
