Fire Rages At Commercial Building In Mahwah

A fire raged through a commercial building in Mahwah on Christmas, authorities said.

MAHWAH – A fire raged through a commercial building in Mahwah on Christmas, authorities said.

Firefighters were battling the blaze at 5 a.m. at the Arzee Building Supply Center at 37 Franklin Turnpike, police said.

The extent of the damage was unknown at press time.

"While most of us slept safely in our warm beds Mahwah's bravest, finest and most caring first responders, along with many of their colleagues from surrounding towns in Rockland and Bergen counties were fighting a large commercial fire," the Mahawah PBA reported. "While we are glad there have been no reported deaths or injuries, it is sad to see someones livelihood reduced to ashes. Thank you to all those whose commitment to the safety and well-being of our community knows no holiday, especially our volunteers."
