Judge Denies Accused Murderer Lower Bail, Report Says
Arthur Lomando, 44, is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend, Suzanne Bardzell of Midland Park, in her driveway in October.

Superior Court Judge Susan J. Steele denied a request to lower the bond of a man charged with murdering his ex-girlfriend in her Bergen County driveway last October, The Record reported.
Arthur J. Lomando, 44, allegedly waited to ambush Susanne Bardzell, who had a restraining order out against him, when she was in her driveway in Midland Park on Oct. 22, 2015, authorities said.
Bardzell was found dead inside her SUV. Lomando later jumped in front of a Manhattan subway train and had both of his feet amputated.

Lomando's attorney Brendan M. Ahern argued Lomando's $5 million bail should be reduced to $250,000 or $1 or $2 million with a bond option because his client "has an inability to flee, literally," the report said.

Senior Assistant Prosecutor Danielle Grootenboer told Steele that Lomando's lack of legs will not deter him "because he has a sound and evil mind," the report said.
Lomando allegedly stabbed Bardzell with a large knife multiple times, authorities said.
Authorities said Lomando repeated violation restraining orders Bardzell filed against Lomando throughout their tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship. The two met over the Internet.
Stells said that she is not convinced that Lomando is not a flight risk "by virtue of being in a wheelchair" and the fact that he violated the court orders, the report said.
