Roadways are still flooded and closed in the county after Ida pounded the region on Wednesday night.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — County Executive Jim Tedesco has issued a local state of emergency for Bergen County after Ida brought excessive rain, flooding and damage to the region.
"County Office of Emergency Management officials encourage residents, especially those living in close proximity to the Hackensack and Saddle Rivers, to stay home as many roadways are still flooded and closed," Tedesco said, in a news release.
County administrative offices will have a delayed opening today at 11 a.m. for all non-essential personnel.

River overflow was initially viewed as the likely major problem on Wednesday, but flooding quickly happened across the region even prior to those overflows.
