Mahwah Business Honored For Helping To Educate Students

MAHWAH, N.J. — A township business was honored recently by Bergen County Technical Schools as its business partner of the year.

Stryker Orthopedics' John Bryndza created the Rover Design Project, which allowed students to collaborate with Stryker employees to solve an engineering challenge. The project grew out of a series of discussions Bryndza had with school staff about the skills that high-tech manufacturing companies like Stryker look for in employees.

“These partnerships with businesses are a vital component of successful CTE programs,” said Bergen County Technical Schools Superintendent Howard Lerner. “They provide students with hands-on, real-world experiences that connect academic and technical studies with professional applications."

School staff members are working with Bryndza to incorporate elements of Stryker's quality control process into their curriculum and on other projects.

"We look forward to collaborating with John and Stryker to create even more challenging engineering and design projects," Lerner said.
