Mahwah Contractor Censured By Consumer Affairs
The NJ Division of Consumer Affairs has cited five Bergen County contractors for a variety of violations.

Five contractors from Bergen County, including one from Mahwah, have been cited by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs for violations during 2015, according to a report by the Cliffview Pilot.
The cited contractors are Agnello Construction of Mahwah, Brownies Tree Service of Garfield, Durango Travertine of Ridgefield, Medina Floors and Construction of Palisades Park, and Home Care of Oakland.
All together, the five cited contractors are being fined almost $400,000 between fines and civil penalties, according to the report.

Cited activities included failing to complete work paid for in advance and refusing to refund deposits, among other charges, according to the report.
The report, released today, states that spring is the busiest season for home improvement contractors, and that individuals considering a new project should be careful to thoroughly research prospective clients.
