Mahwah Cops Who Saved 9-Year-Old Will Be Honored: Report

MAHWAH, NJ - The three police officers who saved a girl during a horrific fire last week will be honored.
Lt. Jeffrey Dino, Sgt. Brendan Mullin, and Officer Tom Solimano caught 9-year-old Sofya Doroshenko after she jumped from a third-floor balcony while a fire raged behind her at the Society Hill condominium complex.
Doroshenko was surrounded by smoke and was home alone when the fire occurred, police said.

The girl tried to leave the building but the stairwell was filled with smoke and went back inside the apartment. Dino eventually got her to jump from the balacony.
Dino, Mullin, and Solimano will be honored during a ceremony sponsored by NJ BlueNOW, an independent publication covering law enforcement in the Garden State, on Monday, The Daily Voice reported.
