Mahwah Man Charged With Assault By Auto

A Mahwah man was charged with assault by auto after he was involved in a car crash involving several vehicles in Ridgewood earlier this month, Ridgoewood police said.

Police responded to a three-vehicle accident with injuries in Ridgewood Dec. 7 at 2 p.m., authorities said.

Police determined that Brian Mulcahy, 28, of Mahwah, the driver of one of the trucks, was under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance when the accident occurred, police said.

Mulcahy was charged with driving while intoxicated, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, assault by auto, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, and reckless driving, police said.
