Mahwah Man Loses License After Injuring Girl In DWI Crash

William Almonte was charged after he pinned a 13-year-old Mahwah in between two vehicles last May.

MAHWAH, NJ — A township man was sentenced to three years probation and lost his driver's license for seven months after he drove drunk and pinned a 13-year-old between two cars at a party last year.

William Almonte got behind the wheel of a Ford Mustang last May, put it into reverse and pinned the girl between the Ford and her father's vehicle, severely injuring her leg, police previously said.

John Stuart, the girl's father, said he was in court Monday when Almonte plead guilty in Superior Court to simple assault and driving while intoxicated. Almonte was also sentenced to 50 hours of community service, Stuart said.
