Mahwah Men Charged With Burglarizing Several Cars

David J. Picinich, 25, and Donato Crosta, 29, were each charged with five counts of burglary and theft.

Two Mahwah men were charged following a several car burglaries that were reported in town and the surrounding area, police said.

While investigating the burglaries, Sgt. Michael Blondin and Officer John Lange saw a vehicle that matched the description of one of the vehicles allegedly seen at one of the burglaries, Blondin said in a press release.

Police spoke with the driver, who said he was looking for his lost dog; an investigation led police to a home in town where the dog was found. Police also found proceeds from several reported, and unreported, burglaries at the residence, Blondin said.

Mahwah police has some unclaimed items from the burglaries and is asking anyone who thinks their vehicle may have been burglarized should call the police at 201-529-1000.
