Mahwah Men Created Gentlemen's Beard Business Out Of Need

MAHWAH, NJ — Derek Winsick created his successful business out of need.

Winsick runs Gentleman’s Beard with his dad. He founded it in 2015 because he couldn't find a beard care product he was looking for.

"I starting growing a beard in late 2014 and was looking for care products, but I couldn't find anything that fit my needs," Winsick said. "We decided to start from scratch and formulate our own products."

Winsick's Gentlemen's Beard has a complete line of beard oils and balms and, including their Regular Guy brand and launched a line of foot scrubs and body creams for both men and women.

"We heard a lot from women who tried the products their husbands or boyfriends got and they loved them," Winsick said.

The company sells their products on Amazon and puts the money they make back into the brand.

"We start from scratch," Winsick said. "It usually takes between six and eight months to develop a product."
