Mahwah Police Find 450 Bags Of Heroin In Vehicle, Arrest 3: Cops
The men gave police conflicted stories about where they were going, authorities said.

MAHWAH, NJ — Three people were arrested and charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute after police found 450 bags of the narcotic during a motor vehicle stop on Route 287 North Monday, police said.
Officer Christopher Fasulo stopped Donovan Burton, 18, of Port Jervis, New York, for motor vehicle violations, said Chief James Batelli. Burton and his passengers, Brian Klich, 26, and Richard McInturff, 27, gave conflicting stories about where they were going.
Police searched the vehicle and found nine bricks of heroin, or about 450 bags, Batelli said.

Klich, of Port Jervis, New York, and McInturff, of Lake Grove, New York, were arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. They were both released from the Passaic County Jail earlier this month after being charged with similar narcotics offenses, Batelli said. They were both taken to the Bergen County Jail.
Burton was charged with possession of heroin and motor vehicle offenses pending a court hearing.

An ongoing, multi-agency investigation is underway following the arrests, Batelli said.
