MAHWAH, NJ — A township priest was sentenced to one to two years in a Pennsylvania jail Thursday for disseminating child pornography, something he reportedly did to get revenge on God because he lost money playing poker.
Kevin Gugliotta, 55, of Mahwah was sentenced to 11 and a half to 23 and a half months in the Wayne County Pennsylvania Jail and five years probation, Wayne County District Attorney Janine Edwards said in a press release. Gugliotta pleaded guilty in March to one count of dissemination of photos/film of child sex acts. He must also register as a sex offender for 25 years. He faced a maximum potential sentence of seven years.
Gugliotta downloaded pornography to his personal laptop at his Lehigh Township vacation home in Wayne County, Edwards previously said. He then uploaded the files 20 different times to a website called chatstep.com in the summer of 2016.

Gugliotta was charged as the result of an investigation that began in August when detectives received a report of child pornography being uploaded to an internet chat room from a specific IP address, which was registered to Gugliotta.
Gugliotta served as a priest at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Union. Newark Archbishop John J. Myers removed Gugliotta from the ministry shortly after his arrest.
