Mahwah Students Named National Merit Scholars
8 students were named commended students in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program.

MAHWAH, N.J. — Eight Mahwah high schoolers were honored recently for being named commended students by the National Merit Scholarship Program.
The students honored are: Jack M. Darrow, Benjamin G. Gerson, Harveen Kaur, Elise D. Kronbichler, Kristen C. Lee, Emma C. Maley, William Tso, and Christian D. Wettre.
According to a school news release, about 34,000 commended students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.

The students received the honor for placing among the top five percent of the more than 1.6 million students who took the 2015 Preliminary SAT.
