Mahwah's Ramapo Ridge Middle School Celebrates Promotion Day

MAHWAH, NJ — Ramapo Ridge Middle School students aren't old enough to drive, but they celebrated their eighth grade promotion on four wheels.

Videos and photos posted to Twitter show the students participating in a "drive-up" ceremony on Monday, in place of the traditional ceremony, which was of course altered due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a tweet from the middle school's account, the students and their families were escorted from Mahwah High School to the middle school as part of the celebration.

Homeroom processions, according to a tweet, were aided by teachers and other members of the Mahwah High School Community.

"We're All In This Together," a song from the movie "High School Musical," was played through speakers, and served to represent the feeling of the last few months of school, according to a tweet.
