Mahwah's Ravenscroft Manor Is Back, Expanded In 2021

The haunted experience returns to Mahwah on Oct. 15, and this time, residents and thrill seekers will have more chances to attend.

MAHWAH, NJ — Ravenscroft Manor, Mahwah's own haunted attraction, is back and bigger than ever in 2021.

Opening weekend is scheduled for Oct. 15, and those who've worked to organize, reshape and curate the experience for this year are excited to start the season, but keeping the new elements close to the vest.

"Don’t want to give to many secrets away but we have the return of the big monster from our first year Thanatos: The God of Death returning by invitation of Baron Ravenscroft himself," said Creative Director Michael Yannette. "This will be the first time both Thanatos and The Baron will be featured together inside the Manor."

But of all the changes, the biggest has been an increase in running weekends, something Yannette said was based on the popularity of the attraction and feedback from attendees last year.

"We increased our running weekends from one weekend to three based on past, current and even potential customers who not make our two nights last year. They wanted more and they are getting more," he said.

"We have new gags, new scares, more thrills and chills. We even will have food trucks and vendors on hand, and for our opening night we will even have with us the famous Horror Convention Personality, Lou “Father Evil” Avilleira," Yannette added.

This will be the third year of operations for Ravenscroft Manor, and all proceeds from the attraction go fully toward the scouts of Troop 259, Bergen County’s first all-girls Boy Scout troop.

The attraction is located at the Mahwah Elks Club, 1 Foxwood Ave. Opening weekend starts on Oct. 15, and the attraction will also be running the weekend of Oct. 22 and Oct. 29.
