Man Distributed Cocaine From Bergen Sneaker Store: Prosecutor
Authorities found cocaine, marijuana, and more than $2,200 at the store.

A New York City man was arrested and accused of distributing cocaine from an Englewood sneaker and apparel store, authorities said.
Police personnel located and seized approximately one ounce of suspected cocaine, more than $2,200 in cash, a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale and empty unused plastic baggies, which are commonly used to weigh and package narcotics, said Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal.
Gilberto Ruiz, 34, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely cocaine, in a quantity greater than one half an ounce but less than five ounces, a second degree crime.

Ruiz's bail was set at $75,000 with no 10 percent option. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
The seizure of the narcotics, cash, and paraphernalia was the result of a joint investigation by the prosecutor's office Narcotic Task Force, the Bergen County Sheriff's Department, and three municipal police departments.
