Man Sentenced To 30 Years For Robbing Bergen, Hudson Banks
Gary Bohanan, 47, lead a group of people on an armed robbery spree in North Jersey three years ago.

A man was sentenced to 30 years in prison Friday for leading an armed robbery spree of Bergen and Hudson County banks and businesses in July 2013, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.
Gary Bohanan, 47, of North Bergen, previously plead guilty in federal court to armed robbery, conspiracy to commit bank robberies, and two counts of Hobbs Act robbery. U.S. District Judge Claire C. Cecchi sentenced Bohanan.
Bohanan and Ramon Lopez robbed a North Bergen McDonalds at gunpoint July 10, 2013. They took $1,600 from the cash registers and demanded money from employees, according to documents filed and statements made in court regarding the case. Josephine Chenet drove a getaway car.

Bohanan, Angel Feliu, 22, Lopez, and Chenet robbed a restaurant employee at gunpoint of $6,000 of restaurant proceeds outside her home on July 18.
Bohanan and Feliu robbed a Sovereign Bank in Secaucus of nearly $22,000. Bohanan jumped over the counter and pointed an air pistol at bank tellers during the robbery.

Bohanan, Feliu, and Chenet robbed a TD Bank in Fairview July 26. Bohanan and Feliu fled on foot and carjacked a GMC Savana van, but crashed it shortly after driving away.
Law enforcement officers and concerned citizens found Bohanan hiding under a truck parked nearby.
Bohanan was sentenced to five years of supervised release.
Feliu pleaded guilty to two armed bank robbery charges and one conspiracy charge and was sentenced to 46 months in prison. Lopez also pleaded guilty to similar charges and was sentenced to 47 months in prison. Charges against Chenet were dropped after she died in June 2014.
