Mahwah Home Depot Employee Wrestles Man To Ground During Robbery: Police
Michael Macleish got in a physical fight with a Home Depot Loss Prevention employee, police said.

A Montebello man was charged with robbery at the Mahwah Home Depot on Route 17 north Tuesday night, Mahwah Police said.
Mahwah Police received a call from someone at Home Depot who stated that a Home Depot Loss Prevention employee and an individual, now identified as Michael Macleish, 61, were in a physical altercation at the store.
According to the police, when the officers arrived around 9:30 p.m., they found Macleish and the employee on the ground in an altercation.

Macleish fought and attempted to resist Sergeant Michael Blondin and Officer Sean Hayes. The officers said they eventually got Macleish under control and found various Home Depot items on him.
Macleish tried to take clamp meters, drill bits, and a laser measure from the store without paying. Macleish also had a magnetic device in his hand, which is usually used to disable security devices that are placed on store items to prevent theft, police said.

The Home Depot Loss Prevention Employee had minor injuries from the altercation.
