Real Estate Firm Donates 25,000 Pounds of Food To Center For Food Action In Mahwah
Anonymous donor doubles initial donation to 18,000 pounds of food Friday.

A high-end real estate firm has donated thousands of pounds of food to the Center for Food Action in Mahwah as part of the non-profit’s donation campaign.
An anonymous donor who knows Mahwah Mayor Bill Laforet was slated to give 9,000 pounds of food, but instead doubled the donation to 18,000 pounds. The food was donated through Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty, which is running its month-long food drive being run with Move For Hunger, a non-profit that picks up unwanted and unopened food from people who are moving and brings it to local food banks.
“Hunger is prevalent in our communities. It used to be the middle class donating to the Center for Food Action and now the middle class is going to the CFA for food,” Laforet said. “This is the season and the perfect opportunity provided through Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty to step forward and give back to those in need. This food drive is both significant and an achievement for them to do something so great for the community.”
