School Bus With Students Aboard Hit In Mahwah, Crashes Into Tree: Police
The kids aboard were taken to local hospitals, police said.

MAHWAH, NJ — Four Bergen County Academies students were taken to the hospital Tuesday night after a car crashed into a school bus, which then hit a tree, police said.
The bus was traveling north on East Crescent Avenue when the driver turned left onto Masonicus Road, said Chief James Batelli.
As the bus was turning, a Lexus turned east onto Masonicus Road and hit the bus, which caused it to spin around and hit a vehicle before careening out of control and hitting a tree 100 feet away head-on, Batelli said.

There is a stop sign at East Crescent Avenue and Masonicus Road for East Crescent traffic, police said.
The four kids in the bus were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, Batelli said. The Lexus driver was taken to Hackensack Hospital.

The 57-year-old bus driver was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with facial injuries.
The school bus is registered to John Leckie Inc., in Hackensack.
Police interviewed two witnesses who saw the crash and the Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
No summonses were issued.
