So This is Christmas……..
As calendar year 2016 draws to a close it is now my favorite time of year, Christmas when we celebrate the birth of our King Jesus –born to take on the sins of the world. I am eternally grateful and thankful for God’s gift to all of us and my prayer is that I never lose the wonder of God’s love for me.
As I look back on the past year….

I think back and remember all of you, your fervent prayers for me as I struggled with life’s most serious battle –that of air to breathe. Together we now rejoice as God almighty saw fit to send His healing power into my body AGAIN, and even my doctors refer to me as a miracle. Thank you Jesus now and forever
I also think back and remember the pain and emptiness I still feel at the passing of 2 uncles of mine who loved me always. The only solace I can take is that they are no longer suffering but it has not relieved the hurt or sadness that I can’t speak with them here on earth. My heart is gladden by one thing though----I know as sure as I write these words I can and will see them again one day-----soon!

I think back and remember some of the health issues of those that I love. Sometimes I feel sooo helpless to those I care about. My prayer is for recovery and restoration, and for the Lord to never let me lose sight of the need of others, in spite of and because of….
I remember the battles and challenges that spilled over from 2015 that took a lot of determination and prayer to succeed as this year began.
I remember the urgency to pray as our nation entered a political hurricane where it seemed as though our country’s very foundation was shaken---and at risk. I remember the diligent, faithful, and powerful work of Rev Franklin Graham visiting the capitols of all 50 states in an effort to make sure Christians were informed about what was at stake and what our obligations were
I remember the passing of 2 that brought me so much entertainment---Prince, and Maurice White. One time a drummer for the Ramsey Lewis trio Maurice White along with Marvin Gaye are the 2 best male vocalists of all time in my opinion. Be Ever Wonderful indeed
This time of year I always try to keep Christmas music on where ever I am. As the year comes to a close it sometimes is difficult when I think of past year and all that’s happened. One thing I love revisiting is the Cantata Born A King that I was privileged to perform in a few years back. It amazes me how much I was affected by participating in that effort and the words and music seem to come alive as I listen to the cd as I drive around.
My prayer for all of us this Holiday season is that we take a step back forget about ourselves and see where we can be used by others. Personally my prayer is that God never lets me lose the wonder of his love as we enter 2017 and I enter a new decade in February.
May God continue to bless you real good……MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!
