Student Advances To TV Singing Competition Semi-Finals
Watch (and vote for) an MHS senior on MSG Varsity's "The Talent Show" Sunday night

A few weeks ago, enough friends, supporters, residents and fans voted one Mahwah singer on to compete in Round Two of MSG Varsity’s “The Talent Show.”
student Sam Waxenbaum, who competed initially on the TV singing competition show in April, gets one step closer to winning the show Sunday night at 8 p.m. Votes from his first round performance in April advanced him to the second round. Now, he’s looking to move on into the finals.
The competition showcases 32 high school acts from the tri-state area. Waxenbaum will sing Sunday night in an attempt to get the most viewer votes. The top vote getters will win a two-day professional studio experience.

According to Waxenbaum, who has been involved with singing groups, the theater department and other performance acts throughout his high school career, said singing for the show (performances have been prerecorded) “was a great experience."
The MHS senior said he tried out because he thought it’d be a fun, new experience during the last few weeks of his final year of high school.

His second round performance will air Sunday night, May 20, at 8 p.m. on MSG Varsity. Viewers can vote for Sam’s performance online after the show, at http://www.msgvarsity.com/talent-show.
