Letter: May And Ervin Need To Stay On The Mahwah Council
YOUR VOTE ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 7TH HAS NEVER BEEN MORE IMPORTANT!!
My family has called Mahwah home for over 100 years, it is where I chose to remain and raise my child. We have all witnessed our town grow and change throughout the years. The most attractive qualities of Mahwah have always been its preserved beauty, its integrity and hometown charm.
Throughout the past few years, we have all witnessed very questionable actions by our current Mayor which has cast Mahwah in a very negative light, resulting in two major lawsuits, a complaint filed by the Attorney General which is now resulting in a large burden to our town and all of our taxpayers. I personally hold Mayor Laforet completely responsible for casting our town in this negative light, tarnishing the reputation of our town and completely turning his back on all of the residents. The current direction LaForet is pushing for in our town will be very detrimental if he succeeds. His recommended plan to develop multiple story high rise high density low income housing projects on BOTH sides of our train station right in the heart of our town will completely change the structure and picturesque Mahwah that we all know and love. For his plan to succeed he needs to build his support with the Town Council and in doing so he has recruited his two top supporters to run for town council seats.
THIS IS WHY YOUR VOTE ON TUESDAY HAS NEVER BEEN MORE IMPORTANT!!

I encourage all Mahwah Residents to vote to keep our current Town Council intact; who strive to always put Mahwah’s needs first and preserve our hometown. David May and George Irwin have been working diligently and tirelessly to keep Mahwah’s best interests to heart and to avoid the current Administration’s push for overdevelopment and destructive change. Both David and George have both demonstrated dedication and the proven ability to protect our town.
