U2 Will Perform At MetLife Stadium

The Irish band will play songs from its best-selling album, 'The Joshua Tree' in honor of the album's 30th anniversary.

U2 will play at MetLife Stadium June 28 as part of The Joshua Tree Tour in celebration of the band's No. 1-selling album.

“Recently I listened back to "The Joshua Tree" for the first time in nearly 30 years,” lead singer Bono said in news release. “It’s quite an opera. A lot of emotions which feel strangely current, love, loss, broken dreams, seeking oblivion, polarisation… all the greats. I’ve sung some of these songs a lot, but never all of them. I’m up for it, if our audience is as excited as we are… it’s gonna be a great night."

The album had three hit singles on it: "With or Without You," "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "Where the Streets Have No Name." The album won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1988.
