Unquarantined: Mahwah Hosts Movie Night, Senior Picnic

MAHWAH, NJ — The Recreation Committee is set to host two events during the early half of this week.

A senior picnic is scheduled for Tuesday, while an outdoor movie night is slated for Wednesday. Here's what to know about both:

Senior Picnic

The Mahwah Recreation Committee is bringing back its annual Senior Picnic on the outside patio area of the Mahwah Senior Center this Tuesday. The picnic will be hosted at the Mahwah Municipal Building, 475 Corporate Drive in Mahwah, at 12:00 p.m.

This free event is open to all senior citizen residents of Mahwah, officials said.

Movie Night

The next Mahwah movie night is set for July 28, with a screening of the 2021 adaptation of "Tom & Jerry".

The recreation committee will host the next "Movie Night Under the Stars" next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Commodore Perry Field will host the screening, which will begin "as soon as darkness allows," the committee said.

Admission is free for all residents, who are urged to bring their own blanket or charges.

A refreshment stand will be open serving food, snacks and drinks, officials said.
The rain date for the event is July 29.
