Wyckoff's Spring Lake Beach Club Opens For Members

The YMCA announced hours, guidelines and a future expanded opening for Spring Lake after coronavirus delayed the season.

WYCKOFF, NJ — The Spring Lake Beach Club is officially open for members, and has rolled out guidelines for swimmers and other lake-goers.

According to a post on the YMCA website, members could use the beach club daily beginning on June 20, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Beginning July 6, those hours will be scaled back on weekdays, and the lake will be open from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Registration is currently open for Spring Lake memberships.

Like other area aquatic facilities, Spring Lake has made changes for summer in an attempt to maintain social distancing guidelines, as well as other state regulations.

Unlike in years past, lake members and Camp Wydaca participants will not be occupying the lake at the same time, and guests are not allowed as of now. The Camp Wydaca day camp will also open on July 6.

All members will have to check in to confirm their membership, and a social distancing ambassador has been assigned to assist with and ensure safety guidelines are maintained.

All bathrooms will be cleaned and disinfect hourly, and a bathroom monitor will be present, and allow one person, or one parent and their child, in at a time. Neither the indoor nor outdoor showers will be open.

According to the YMCA regulations, lifeguard staff will be cleaning lake facilities and "high touch" areas hourly.

According to a message at the end of the regulations, the YMCA is planning additional summer activities and events for children and adults.

"We look forward to working together as we make it a memorable and safe summer for all. Let us remember to be patient, kind, and understanding to our friends, family, and neighbors," it read.
