2 Dogs Saved From Manalapan House Fire

Two dogs were saved from a burning home on Ivanhoe Drive last Thursday afternoon.

MANALAPAN, NJ - Two dogs were saved from a burning home in Manalapan last Thursday, police report.

The fire broke out at 12:45 p.m. Thursday March 2 at a home on Ivanhoe Drive. Neighbors reported seeing thick black smoke coming from the roof. When volunteer firefighters from Gordon’s Corner, Manalapan Township, Englishtown, Monroe and Marlboro got there, they found heavy flames coming from the rear of the residence.

The home was determined to be unoccupied at the time. The officers were made aware of the dogs after making contact with the home owner, who advised that the house was unoccupied, but contained the two dogs. Both dogs were removed and were last reported to be in stable condition.

The fire is under investigation by a Manalapan Township Fire Marshall and Detective Jared Aronson. At this time the fire appears to have been accidental in nature, as the result of a faulty kitchen appliance.
