MANALAPAN, NJ - Two men were arrested for DUI in Manalapan Township last Wednesday in two different incidents, police said. The first occurred at approximately 12:47 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15. Police stopped a car on Rt. 9 just into Marlboro Township. The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old unmarried male resident of Mexico, who is employed as a bus boy, was found to be driving drunk, police said. He was arrested, taken to headquarters and issued multiple motor vehicle summonses before being released to a sober friend. The second was on Church Lane, where police said a local man drove into a fire hydrant at 10:28 p.m. that same Wednesday. A 52-year-old married male resident of Manalapan, who is employed as a vice president in finance, was found to be driving while intoxicated, police said. He was arrested, taken to police headquartesr, issued multiple motor vehicle summonses and released. Those were the only two arrests reported in the weekly Manalapan Township police blotter.
