3 Reports Of Fraud, Shoplifting, Assault: Manalapan Police Blotter

MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all crimes and arrests from April 6 to 12:

On Tuesday, April 12, at 1:25 p.m., a 39-year-old Manalapan resident reported being harassed by a 55-year-old Manalapan resident on Towne Drive. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolmen Hayden Hrymack handled the report.

On Monday, April 11, at approximately 3:36 p.m., a 76-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that unknown actor(s) attempted to have victim transfer money fraudulently. No monetary loss was reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Douglas Zike handled the report.

On Monday, April 11, at approximately 2:44 p.m., employees of the Home Goods store, located at 55 Route 9 in Manalapan, reported that on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m., three actors entered the business and stole $1,046.95 worth of merchandise. Patrolmen Hayden Hrymack handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Monday, April 11, at 11:42 a.m., employees of the Dunkin Donuts, located at 336 Route 9 in Manalapan, reported that on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at approximately 1:00 a.m., an unknown actor spray painted graffiti on the exterior wall of the business. Patrolman Kyle Williams handled the report.

On Friday, April 8, at 10:56 p.m., Patrolman Matthew Mattia and Patrolman Dennis O’Brien responded to the Highland Park Police Department and took custody of Massa Y. Sheriff, a 26-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, male resident of Somerset, regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000.00. Mr. Sheriff was placed under arrest and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail, pending a court appearance.

On Friday, April 8, at approximately 10:45 a.m., a 60-year-old Manalapan resident and a 55-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they were each assaulted by the other. Minor injuries were sustained by both parties, however, no complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Hayden Hrymack took the report.

On Thursday, April 7, at approximately 2:47 p.m., a 65-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that an unknown actor(s) hacked the victim’s Resorts Casino account and made six withdrawals totaling $500.00. Patrolman Hayden Hrymack took the report.

On Wednesday, April 6, at 7:58 p.m., a 46-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor(s) stole a New Jersey license plate from a vehicle while it was parked in the Towne Pointe commuter parking lot. Patrolman John Lightbody handled the report.

On Wednesday, April 6, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a 54-year-old Manalapan resident reported that unknown actors entered two unlocked vehicles that were parked at a Thomas Drive residence during the overnight hours and removed items valued at approximately $200.00. Patrolman Everett McNulty took the report.

On Wednesday, April 6, at 5:22 p.m., a 44-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that an unknown actor defrauded them of $3,110.00 after purchasing services through a social media platform. Patrolman Ryan Brady took the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Wednesday, April 6, at approximately 12:28 p.m. a 51-year-old Manalapan resident reported that on April 5, at approximately 12:07 p.m. an unknown actor stole a package from the porch of an Arrowwood Road residence. Officer Jean Letts took the report, which is pending further investigation.
